"Among the mountain of corpses like that of hell are unidentifiable soldiers, like wandering ghosts. One of them caught my eyes. He stepped on the heap of corpses, simply standing there with his back towards me, looking unbelievably defenseless. Then, our eyes met. I couldn't have been discovered by him, but he was looking at me. Straight at me. There was no sense of consciousness from those eyes that suck people into the empty darkness. I was unable to move, not even able to shift my eyes away. My calm thoughts went out of control and became very uneasy. Starting from my vision, my mind, my body, are all being eaten up by 'nothing'.
